I'll give you some advice as someone that's a little older (late 30s) than your average redditor.
Do what makes you comfortable. I have female friends. However, I do not hang out with them by myself. My girlfriend has not and would never say anything about it, but I just personally don't want to.
Everyone's relationship is different. I've done the FWB. I've had the jealous ex. I've had the one that doesn't care. All of it. At the end of the day when you find the one you really care about, you notice you'll form your own boundaries of what you find acceptable, based on what you wouldn't want done to you.
