This is a tricky topic to navigate, as I had broken up with him before. I broke up with him for complicated reasons as well, however we got back together with it and we reconciled.
I think after considering your valuable input, I'll talk with him about how although I've made the same mistake of breaking up without properly communicating before, we should both learn from our mistakes and consider the impact a hasty breakup can have on each other.

If you don't see yourself being able to trust her, the relationship is doomed. You also need to trust yourself. Meaning you trust that if someone you care about cheats on you (because there are no guarantees in life and relationships), you will survive it and move on.
