I think it really just boils down to personal preference. Some woman aren't comfortable with significant others visiting strip clubs, some are. It sounds like you're on the not okay with it side, which is fine. Personally I find the concept just kind of gross. Not on the very hot ladies front, like girls gotta eat more power to you girlfriend. More on the men's part. Like they want to sit together in a dark, gross room and pay money to look at boobs they aren't allowed to do anything with? Where is the fun in that. I've told him from the beginning I'd be okay with him going to one as long as he was honest about having gone. It's been 7 years and he's never gone to one. He's nearing his mid 30s and just feels like he's grown out of the part of his life. But if it's something that you're oncomfortable with you probably need to communicate that with him going forward to save your sanity. You can't make yourself okay with something your not. He can always respond and say not going to the club isn't something he's going to stop. But it doesn't hurt to tell him how you feel about it.

Also, your wife's doctor is very misguided. Unless there is a medical issue, sex during pregnancy is perfectly fine and healthy. It reduces stress, increases intimacy with your partner, strengthens pelvic muscles, and induces labor.
