I think whether or not someone is pro spanking is a personal choice subject only to both parents of which you are neither. There’s a buttload of science saying vaccines cause autism and global warming isn’t real and yet neither of those are (in my opinion) true. There’s conflicting studies both disavowing and supporting literally every aspect of parenting no matter how minuscule. Most states where spanking is considered abuse also have the caveat that an open handed swat to the bottom is allowed.
I will say a) that where you see a lack of hesitation I see a knee jerk reaction to sudden pain. B) If you’re anti spanking you shouldn’t be with someone who is pro spanking period. It’s a parenting choice that you have no bearing on and you have no right to voluntarily enter his house and then tell him to parent his daughter.
