I used the 1950s housewife reference in a semi-derogatory way because it’s absolutely not what I want in a relationship. I prefer a partner to be equal, have a passion and do what makes them happy. But this isn’t about me, it’s about the agreement this particular couple have and from the sounds of things OP isn’t keeping up her end of the bargain. We obviously have no way of knowing what kind of state their house is in but I would argue that if you’re not working and you are home all day there should never be a reason for the dishes to be piling up in the sink or the bathroom to be unclean. Hell, I work two jobs and I rarely (if ever) have dishes in the sink or a grubby bathroom. I wouldn’t say that’s expecting perfection, just a basic level of respect for your home.
Anyway, this is a very young couple who seemingly got married too soon and have not figured out how to effectively communicate with each other. Not saying OP’s husband comes out of this well, just trying provide some balance that OP isn’t blameless either so in my view your original “point scoring” comment was unnecessary.
