OK this is a really toxic situation. I was in an abusive relationship right before that’s over. I wasn’t healthy enough to be with anybody after I got out of that relationship. I had to call and break up from my therapist office reading a 3 x 5 card.

I think you should get someplace safe from your abusive boyfriend and start therapy and not date for about a year so that you can recover and figure out how to date somebody. Because if you don’t, you will find somebody as bad or worse than him. It is the Al-Anon syndrome. Alcoholics date Al-Anon’s, and even unconsciously when they break up Al-Anon looks for other alcoholics. We go to our worst possible things when we’re not recovered.
