Tell your parents. Tell them everything about her. And that you won’t be at any family function she’s invited to. Tell your brother as long as she’s in his life you won’t be in the same room. That she’s making a fool of him. Don’t text your ex. Especially with a lie. That just makes you look bad. Do you want to be labeled as a cheater? And have it in text that he can share? Leave him in the past.
Has said guy shown any interest in your gf or have you seen any red flag behavior ? Because if not, this is a control issue on your end, your SO is permitted to have meaningful connections/ friendships outside of the relationship, hell, it’s even healthy.

I am going to agree with the other comment that if she's having (ostensibly) life-threatening breakdowns twice a week, she needs to be back on her medication.
Him needing love is a personal problem that he should have considered before being abusive. That has nothing to do with her.
When she fails at changing herself, and this issue happens again and again, hopefully you grow a spine and leave.

Joking isn't your strong suit, lol. You're joking about the one thing she's insecure about, which makes your joke inappropriate. It probably doesn't help that you made the joke when you found out her line of work either.
This seems to be entirely brought on by yourself. You need to think about things before you say them. You know this topic makes her uncomfortable. Stop joking about it entirely.
