Why would you think this was a date? Did you specifically ask her out on a date?

I’m a bit old fashioned, but I only consider it a date when someone literally asks me out on a date, either picks me up or meets me there (I would not like it if a man I dated expected to be picked up but for a platonic friend I wouldn’t mind).

Did she maybe buy you the food and drinks? I only do that when I have a meet up with friends or when the relationship is starting to feel a bit more serious/exclusive. When I am not interested in a date I pay for myself or both of us. It’s different with friends and family. I like to treat friends of all genders.

I have a feeling she might thinks you are just friends and you maybe didn’t really have someone to hang out with for the game? And because it was your birthday she picks you up and treats you in food and drinks?

Are you ok with selling and getting a new house in the future? Because if you do want to marry her and she hates the house, you can't expect her to want to live there. Now, if you don't see a long term future, great, but tell her that. But if you want to live! in this house for 20 years and want to be with her for 20 years, you have to take her into consideration. Whether it's her opinions on the house, or planning to move in the future in a different home together when things become more serious.
