As someone who is a caregiver for my ill mom and my disabled brother, this is precisely why I'm not dating at the moment. Like he doesn’t want me walking around town by myself or near dark, which I understand ofc, he wants to know when I go out in case something happens or where I go if he asks, I don’t have an issue with that because I understand where he’s coming from because I unfortunately have a bad history with some of that stuff. My hubs and I both wanted a house. We both worked to buy the house. He made more than me for years. 2 people, working towards a shared goal. OP does not want a house, that’s fine. He wants to be with someone who wants a house. She would like OP to pitch in to buy a house for both of them. See, he’d live there too so he would also benefit. She would like OP to work THE SAME AMOUNT of hours she does so they can both buy a home to share. OP just wants gf to give up her dream, he’s not willing to give up anything. Ergo, they are not compatible. OP is selfish because he wants exactly what he already has and he’s expecting gf to sacrifice her dream. OP will be sacrificing nothing. The only way he gets to not be selfish is to break up with his gf.
I’ve never been comfortable being friends with a cheater. It’s one of those things, you worry about who they’ll go after in a friend group or who will they corrupt, cheaters love company.
If your wife has a cheater for a best friend, did she know? If she didn’t, it’s difficult to believe they’re really best friends.
I’d recommend you and your wife distance you from the cheater.
What are the odds she got pregnant the first time she cheated? How do you know the friend is a long time serial cheater?
