If you are not, then this is self-sabotage. It's his decision whether he is happy or not, and you need to trust him and let HIM decide.
If you are mistreating him, then this may be an abusive relationship in which he is the victim and is too gaslighted/manipulated to be able to see what's happening and leave. If so, yes you should leave him, so he can be safe.
