You don’t have to say anything about him. Just that you need to concentrate on your own health and wellness. This pain clinic is a big deal to you, and you need to focus on it 100%. adoption should never about the parents and what the parents want it should ALWAYS be about the child, it’s very concerning that he wants to adopt asian children specifically, if you both decide to go through with adoption please do some research on the affects it has on children & how different it is to having biological children. it’s not selfish to want to have biological children & adopting children doesn’t make you a saint, it is a long and tedious process to adopt and you have the factor of their biological family as well, not everyone is fit to adopt and i don’t think your husband is in my opinion.
The fact that he said she’s not going anywhere and you need to decide if you’re gonna stay or not is enough disrespect to just leave. He basically told you where you stand compared to her. It seems like he values her more than you.
She needs to right-size her outrage and use outrage when the situation warrants outrage. This does not.
Please do not go out and buy consolation flowers just to try to make peace. If you do, here's what's going to happen: she will throw them away because they mean nothing to her since she had to tell you that you should have purchased flowers. AND then your knee jerk reaction will be to buy her flowers for each and every little thing that happens because you don't want her to get pissed. The flowers will be made absolutely meaningless in the context of celebrating a milestone, lifting someone's spirits, marking a special date, etc.
If she continues to be pissed, it is time to sit down and ask her what this is really about. Cuz it isn't about flowers.
