Well women are not exactly a group of innocent little lambs on those dating sites either. It might actually be shocking to you just how many dishonest, unhinged, and cheating women exist on them as well.
And are those forums really keeping anyone safe? I can see how they can successfully manage to make a woman not date a guy who is accused of something, but how is it verified that the guy is even guilty of what he is accused of? Unless it can actually be confirmed that women were protected from dating an actual Boston strangler, the only thing that can be said is the site has succeeded in making it harder for some men to get dates because of an accusation,that’s all. What about the potential bad guys that got a stamp of approval? If there was something like this during Ted Bundy’s life, he would have gotten glowing reviews from women,in fact, many that dated him did not even believe they caught the right guy for a long time because of how great and charming he was of a date. Can you see how false sense of security can result from the sites? Have they done any studies that prove these are actually very effective?
Maybe sites devoted on sharing educational tips, tricks, how to spot potential danger, catfishes, fake profiles, signs of married men, how to get out of dangerous situation might be more beneficial.
I suspect her regret is genuine. However, she has no incentive to be honest with you about why she wanted to breakup in the first place if she wants to get back with you now.

These thoughts are the EXACT SAME type of thoughts that people have before they get proof that their spouse was cheating. The EXACT SAME. If you didn't want to break up in the first place, I'm afraid you'd believe anything thing she has to say right now. The truth doesn't have to matter if you're willing to believe that she was “caught” and in a vulnerable state. It's rare that the person who does the breaking up is vulnerable and is only capable of being “caught” if that's what she was planning.
It sounds like the only emotionally vulnerable person here is you and your ex is taking advantage of that fact. She probably suspected that you'd take her back after sleeping with her friend, in case it didn't work out…
Stop venting your family issues to him, he probably tired of hearing it. If you cut the toxic people out of your life, there wouldn’t be that much venting or having the risk of being drawn into that drama. Family is family, but there needs to be boundaries. And sometimes blood dont mean family, it just means you’re connected thru DNA.
Please do not think you can fix him, that all he needs is love and you’ll prove it to him. You’re in the eye of a tornado and can’t really see what’s going on with him.
If you keep thinking of the good times, ask yourself when the last truly good day happened between you too. Don’t think of a nice, romantic dinner while ignoring the fighting earlier that day.
