1. I think the worst thing is parents who just say how great having a child is. I love my kid, and it's a kind of love that I did not understand before having him. I went in with the thought of “hey, it may not be as easy as they say”. I've dealt with medical issues that meant worrying if my kid would die, having to wake up myself and my kid every two hours for feedings, and torturing my kid with post-surgery exercises. If I was unsure going in I'm not sure I'd be OK right now.
