You can’t have a healthy relationship with someone who can’t trust you. Her behavior is controlling, toxic and a complete violation of your privacy considering it was most likely baseless. She sounds like she has some deep trust issues, insecurities that she needs help to fix. You can’t fix them for her, and honestly if she’s acting that way she could be heavily projecting onto you to try and catch you doing wrong to justify her own actions. Regardless you’re way too young to have to deal with this, I’d cut her loose so she can work on herself.
I will qualify this by saying “kids don't save relationships” but if having a family is something you both want and he is seeing a glimmer of what that might be like, he is probably dealing with the emotions of that not being an option…that said, it is still an option. Both of my kids are adopted. It's a fair bit of work, and a lot of money–but you can have a family even if you don't produce them.
My wife and I met and married late. When we decided we wanted to start a family, she was already in her early 40s. So adoption was really our only option. We started an international adoption which was a bit of a fiasco, and full of concerns and delays–so we started a domestic adoption a few years later. Eventually, though both came through.
That was six years ago.
Kids are great. Parenthood is sort of a mixed bag.
