Yeah, you definitely dodged a bullet. There's no reason for her to contact you months later just to brag. You're better off without someone that childish.
You need to sit down and have a serious conversation. Approach her with compassion and understanding, but express that this isn’t sustainable for you. Maybe it’s worth going to a sex therapist. If she is asexual altogether, maybe she would be open to opening the relationship so that you can have your physical needs met by another. This idea may not be the true solution though so I’d highly recommend therapy first.
Trying to be friends doesn’t mean nit moving on. Just to be mature enough to accept that they’ll see each other quite often, and he’s the only one who can decide how to react about this.
He doesn’t need to be a close friend to her, just to not be a dick. He’ll feel bad the first few time he sees her, but he’ll start to see things about her that would have been an issue if they were dating, and he’ll move on.

It sounds like you two are not compatible. I had this with my husband. He had 101 reasons why he never wanted sex. He actively avoided me so as not to have moments that sex could occur. But he didnt want a divorce either. He was very happy with what we had, which was just a roommate, friend, coparent situation. I let that keep me there but I highly regret it. I sacrificed what I wanted to not hurt him. But it was not fair to ask that of me.
You need to leave. You need to be free to find what you are actually looking for. A man that likes cuddles and sex.
