  1. My ex-husband (divorced for 7 years) recently passed. He was the father of my kids. We had a very similar relationship to the one you explained. I stayed in bed for a week and cried. Outwardly, I was more upset than my kids. Everything that reminded me of him made me cry. I was living with a man I had been with for almost 5 years ( who I was madly in love with) and I still was torn up.

I wasn't in love with my ex, nor did I want to be with him. But this was a person I did once love, a person my kids loved. He was still an important part of our life, even if it was frustrating sometimes. It's easy to “hate” someone while they're alive, and experience instant sadness and regret when they pass.

So I understand your husband's feelings. The best thing you can do is acknowledge that it is ok for him to be sad, upset, to cry, and give him a safe place to express his feelings. It will get easier as time passes, but it's crucial for your relationship to be understanding in this moment.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Hello /u/TheHorseWithPooBrain,

Your post was removed for the following reason(s):

Your title did not include at least two ages/genders or was not formatted correctly

    Posts must:

include details about the involved parties including ages, genders, and length of relationship, and

request advice in real situations involving two or more people

We are enforcing the two rules listed above by making all titles use the following formatting:

[##X][##X], [## X][## X], or [##-X][##-X] where ## is the age and X is the gender (currently M, F, T, A, NB, FTM, MTF but more can be added). You can have more than two ages/genders listed, but you must have at least two. Here is an example:

[34NB][88-F] We are two people in an example post

Please resubmit with a corrected title.

  3. A few things may have happened:

Maybe you acted needy/clingy and now he's turned off and pulling away. If this is the case, the best thing you can do is distance yourself from him, do your own thing, and let him come back (or not) on his own.

He liked the chase, but once the chase was over, he got bored. If that's the case, there's nothing you can really do. He just needs to grow up.

He met someone else. If that's the case, PLEASE try your best not to take it personally – he will do the exact same to the new girl, and then the one after that. It has nothing to do with you, it just means he's a fickle guy who jumps from women to women, no matter who they are.

In each case, its time to let him go and start focusing on yourself and what makes YOU happy, rather than spending all that time worried about him. Id recommend watching relationship coaches on YouTube (for example, Grets Bereisaite). They have some amazing advice on how to deal with things like this.

  4. Girl, you don't need to put up with this bullshit. You were what, 22 when you started dating? Is this middle-aged creep the only man in your city? You can do better.

  5. This sub is perhaps the most gullible place on Reddit.

I'm half tempted to make a throwaway, write some 3 part bullshit to farm maximum karma and see if it'll make the hall of fame like ogtha or the cum jar story lmao.

The OP of this story has fallen short
