For me, this kind of behaviour would be a deal breaker. My father pulls shit like this, and it's exhausting and only gets worse.

The behavior that you describe (driving off to have a phone conversation between the steps of a funeral) is shitty, but not usually enough to justify a divorce in an otherwise happy marriage.
Was this not an otherwise happy marriage? Was this the last straw, rather than the only straw?
