Hijacking the top comment here because everyone here seems to have the wrong idea about my wife. You are judging her from recent events but i've known her for 20 years. She is a kind and honest person who never hurt anyone on purpose. As soon as she told me about her affair, we talked, she acknowledge my mental state and support me and the fact that she is breaking her affairs and that she feels a lot of guilt about it plus that she found the therapist herself is proof enough for me that she is sincere.
I'm also not a naïve doormat, am i prepared to do everything to save this relationship ? Yes. But i respect her and acknowledge the fact that doesn't love me anymore. She is willing to try and if it never awakens anything in her or if she starts feeling something for someone else after a while, i trust her to tell me before anything happens again and i'm willing to let her go.
