You just explained lifestyle choices which I totally understand. People of all different styles can enjoy gaming, music, tournaments etc. In other words I could dress like a so called “jock” and dominate at video games and I could meet a so called “alt” girl at that tournament and we bond over a shared interest. I totally get that. The OP is walking around high and mighty talking about “Why don't Alt boys like me?”. I'm simply saying what 30+ year Olds are walking around throwing these labels around. I believe that even if your in a certain scene you don't walk around saying “I'm looking for an alt girl”. No you say your looking for a nice girl who is fun to be around and the fact that there is a high probability she may fit this “alt” stereotype may be understood but doesn't really need to be said. It's a tad childish and a bit tacky.
