My partner did something similar a few years ago. It’s a locket necklace with our anniversary on it. I’m not a jewelry wearer especially larger necklaces but I got a small wooden display case with a glass window and it hangs in there on our dresser so now it’s more of a decorative piece. Just an idea that might help you out too. I doubt anywhere is going to return a customized necklace.

i think you shouldn't do anything like that if you're not 100% comfortable with it, which you've said you're not. especially because you said in the comments that she doesn't seem like she's in her right mind. honestly, it doesn't sound like she needs to be having more kids at all right now if she and her life are as unstable as it sounds like.
