if it is only about his personal discomfort with being hot, why did he tell his wife it was inappropriate for her to shower with their daughter.
The original post gave me the impression that he wasn't planning on saying that. But she kept pushing him for an answer.
His original goal was to just avoid showering with his child. That's it.
He only said it wasn't appropriate after being pushed. And then he only said it was inappropriate for his wife to do it, too, after being pushed even further.
He was planning on keeping the entire topic to himself, and let his wife keep doing what she was already doing.
I AGREE that he shouldn't have said that to her. I just think we need to cut him some slack, too.

Have you contacted his parents? Don’t be afraid to explain what’s going on and his message to you in last contact. Then report him as a missing person. That’s about all you can do at this time.
I know this must feel really overwhelming right now. I promise you your life will go on regardless of how this works out. Do you have any trusted older friends or relatives that you could confide in about this? I think you need to have a sit down and a cup of tea and talk through these emotions with someone in person.
