I'm unclear on why you would abandon your business instead of moving it. Start farming contacts, clients, gallaries (whatever you're doing to work your business where you currently are) in the new city instead of where you are. You can join him once you're ready to move and have a landing pad for continuing your business instead of abandoning it – you haven't mentioned any reason you'd have to move at the same time (except, “He was very avid about me moving to Louisiana from our town in Florida to live with him while he goes to school for his degree,” which he can be as much as he likes, but doesn't mean he can or should get his way).
I suppose it's likely just a matter of shifting his view from external attack to internal management, if that makes sense. He's currently (lightly) attacking others for watching/making/enjoying stories with this topic, which is a negative view, but, in your case, you seem to know it's a personal trigger that YOU manage (and the people around you probably help manage, to an extent)
People who've been a victim of SA or have had someone close to them be a victim of murder are fully within their right to avoid stories that use that topic, but it'd be unfair to say any use of it anywhere glorifies it.
So I guess the answer is still “therapy, so he can put it into perspective and decide if he should continue to avoid it for himself or not”
