You are right but you won't find much support around here.
A lot of the people here subscribe to the whole “her money is her money, his money is their money”. Everyone talking about consulting her. But you basically did just that. You showed her the house, she said she didn't like it. Done, opinion given and acknowledged.
The problem is yes, the slippery slope! It will absolutely happen. It will be the carpets, drapes, wall colors etc. next. Then it will be you “wasting money” on whatever you buy that she disagrees with. Maybe you want a cool new motorcycle but for her that's “money for a trip to Paris” or whatever.
You need to have a clear conversation with her about things going forward. Let her know where you stand. She'll probably want to break up though. Just so you know.
