You’re right. When we talked about politics 2 years ago he said he was socially liberal, but fiscally conservative and I guess I didn’t know what the fiscally conservative part meant back then. So we did talk about it. Thank you for your input!
That's wild. I mean, you have to decide if you want to be in a relationship with this man where you have no ability to make choices. If so, stay. If not, go.

Why can't you simply shake it off and say, “Hey, she had a bad day, I had a bad day, but ultimately the model was completed. Let bygones be bygones.”

If there is a genuine issue with this person, confront her like an adult and ask what the problem is. Or, don't feed her negativity. Ignore her.
