Honestly I think this is a by-product of men not being able to gestate children. All children are “someone else's” for them so they have to care so freaking much in this over exaggerated way about their DNA. sounds to me like he made a conscious decision to not finish so he could explain his emotional connection to you and to show you that for him, getting off wasn't as important has having the physical and emotional connection with you. He wanted you to see that he loves you and feels most connected with you through physical touch and intimacy and that actually finishing for him isn't a necessary conclusion, but just being intimate is enough. Personally I'd have gone a different route and limited your encounter to oral on you to show that same attitude and desired connection, but to each his own…. I don't see it as a bad thing.
