I only speak this bluntly because I realized afterwards that I had done with the same thing with a girl I considered my best friend in my early 20's. I had feelings for her, she didn't reciprocate, but we remained best friends. In my immaturity I convinced myself she must have had romantic feelings for me but was just afraid of losing me as a friend, so I would do…well, pretty much all the same shit you're doing.
Your post is actually so reminiscent of all the shit that I did, that if it was 20 years ago and I was as paranoid and narcissistic as I used to be, that my first thought would be to hit up my friend and ask her if she made a fake post on reddit to try to bash me.
Since I'm apparently speaking to a younger clone of me, I'll hit you up with a piece of knowledge that it took me until my embarrassingly late in my life to figure out: we all know that narcissism is bad, but we all assume that narcissism means the person loves themselves unconditionally, thinks everything they do is great, always stares at themselves longingly in the mirror, etc.
That's not narcissism. Narcissism is anybody who sees everything from only their own perspective and is unwilling or incapable of considering anybody else's point of view. The people on reddit complaining all day that they'll never get a GF because they're too fat or ugly or not rich enough? Those are narcissists. Likewise, the rant that you just wrote, wherein you consider yourself the main character of a story the author wouldn't have given you a physical description in, is textbook narcissism.

It's a tricky thing, you have to respect her boundaries but also try to help her. If someone has crying, oversleeping, skipping work, and social withdrawal for more than two weeks, they likely have clinical depression. Tell her what you have observed and say you think she has depression and should see someone for it. Then shut up and listen to what she says. If she tells you she doesn't want to talk about it, you can say “okay, but if it continues, I will be bringing it up again.”
