1. It may be weird to some, but it's not something to argue about or become angry about. Arguing about it is weirder than him going to get the cream imo. If he wasn't messing up any plans that you two had, nor was he harming anyone in any way, there's not really a reason to argue or be upset.

   It could be a favorite cream of his, and he could have thought “well, I have the time, so I'm going to see if I can get it back”. There's nothing really odd about that. I've done that with cheaper perfume before. It's just a matter of me having the time, so why not try to get it back when there is a possibility that I could get it back without having to go buy more?

   Now, if he was doing this and it was impacting time that you have to spend together, that would be another story, and I would see him doing this as an issue, but your replies show that that isn't the case.

   OP, I think maybe just accept him for this LOL. At most you could express confusion, but you don't need to argue about it. Try to see it from a different perspective
