Yes this early on as we young folks transition into real adult hood life gets tougher and people drift apart, friendships dwindle because we are all trying to figure out what the fuck is going on in our lives. Finances are very hot, social and emotional engagement is very hot, all of it especially with the bought of Covid in the past few years. This doesn’t make you worth any less, people are just trying to adult. You’ll find that you make new friends in where your common interests are now but mostly on there or at work. In whatever communities you are apart of. I’m a musician and all my friends are that musicians, they are also mostly men, mostly white but pretty diverse too and I’m a black woman and find it really naked to make black female friends now a days. The community I’m a part of is the latter. I love my friends and who we are as individuals and a community but I also long for more feminine energy and to be connected in my own culture a bit more. I’m friends with these musicians because I’m a musicians and the focus of our hangouts and conversations is music. And sometimes we just hang and talk about life shit. It’s cool I love it. I want to do that more with women and learn myself through them too. It’s hot to make friends or keep friends unless you’ve joined or made some sort of community together with a particular focus. NOT A CULT THO, don’t do that haha!
So to sum this up, it’s normal and part of the process and I’m sure you’re not the problem. You have value and aye if you just keep doing what you’re doing being comfy with you and doing what you love, you’ll naturally attract those with the same values. Give it time and patience. I’ll take the same advice.
Join a club, learn a new skill, pick up a hobby, go to church if so inclined. The best way to meet people is to get out there. Good luck.
If anything just be her friend first, ask her to hangout outside of work and do something you both enjoy.
