Actually it took me 5 years to figure out it wasn't going to work with my ex. Sometimes things change or you realize they won't change (and some people take time to figure that out). I wouldn't be so quick to judge OP. We have no idea what's going on between them. Granted I agree about wasting time. I hate my time being wasted and I hate wasting other's time but in a relationship I see it more as a learning experience. And sometimes people change their mind based on how things are going and if their goals in life change. I do believe love is a choice as well as a feeling. And staying with someone despite the differences or the little irks. But everyone's idea of love is different as well as everyone's time frame. Do what's best for you or do what you think is best.

As a 30yr old I wouldn’t want to date a 22 year old, it’s just two different stages of life and levels of maturity. I would also probably assume that any 22yr old chasing me was only interested in a hookup and not anything serious. I’d say stick to your own age group, but swiping without expectations can’t hurt, you might get a match or two.
You're making some huge generalisations about alt types here, sounds like you're totally delusional about the scene tbh. Not all alts are addicts nor are all alts all about impulsiveness and partying. There are plenty of completely sober professional people who are able to participate successfully in the alt scene. Your attitude is pretty demeaning, actually.

It's ok to separate the wedding from the birth of your child. That's a lot to juggle at one time. The baby is coming but you should postpone the wedding indefinitely.
