Just going to add a word of warning here: before you married, did you and her talk about having children? If so, did she want a lot? One? Two? Is she an only child? One of many?
I ask because, if she is someone who said she wanted kids (plural) and you said kids (plural) and now you're saying: only child. She might not be okay with it for a couple of different reasons, and you saying no could also end your relationship.

There are two issues here:
