That was the pattern the couple previously established together. Not some random idea she came up with in the moment to get her way. The issue happened when daughter didn't like the answer she got, went to Dad for a different response, and Dad instead of saying “Let me talk privately with your mom about this.” Told her she could go, then said he's the biological dad so what he says goes.
