You need to decide whether this is a deal breaker or not.
I suspect there is also part of you that is scared of what else you will realise about your relationship with him is deeply problematic and has happened far more recently.
Keep pushing. If your fear is correct, you deserve better. If it's wrong, you deserve to realise that and not live in fear.
I would let it be. You weren’t rude IMO. The reality is, Bob knows damn well what he pulled, and his own embarrassment, shame and guilt is the driving power behind his discomfort.
