I’ve had more female friends than guy friends my entire life. My best friend is female. I’m in a long term relationship now, but I guarantee you that if my best friend asked if I wanted to hook up, not only would I laugh in her face, but that question would probably damage our friendship.
This is purely anecdotal so this is not the be all or end all, but I've spent a lot of time in the bar/club scene on both sides of the bar (patron and bartender) through most of my 20s and a good chunk of my 30s. In my experience, people who has “negative” personalities come out when inebriate just get worse over the years. I've seen the progression of angry drunks, depressed drunks, “look at me” drunks who act out and do stupid shit, etc. and the behaviors almost always get worse and more pronounced over time. I'm not saying your boyfriend is not capable of a positive change, but it's tough to break the personality someone slips into when they're under the influence. Just my $0.02.
