Is it possible he was misdiagnosed when he was 6? Did you ever get a second opinion on this? Or a second opinion on the accommodations he might need? The first time he attempted, that should have been a wake up call to actually LISTEN to your child. A child with significant depression because he feels his parents are mistreating him should have given you pause. Instead you continue the same song and dance that it isn’t your fault.

Pregnancy can and will kill you. I hate being so bald about it, but it’s true. My first pregnancy was incredibly easy. I could have given birth to my oldest in a field and caught them myself. My youngest was born a month early and ended up in the NICU for 16 days. I was in the ICU for one of the six days I was in the hospital. Birth is a total crapshoot, and everything goes fine until it doesn’t.

If he were white, I would solidly be in the “dump and move on” camp. But since you mention that he's Indian, I would have a few follow up questions about where you on-line and whether his views have shown any evolution for better or worse. But I would also bear in mind the context of whatever racism he has experienced which he attributes to his skin color or race and open up a dialogue about this with him. Don't expect that he has thought this all out or can give you an easy explanation for his thinking any more than a fish can explain the water they online in the first time they try. Therefore, even in the best case scenario where he is open to examining the negative comments and views he holds, if different experiences with racism, colorism and different views as a result are more than you wish to take on, I would move on.
