3. Trust your instinct and end the relationship.

   There are so many things in this scenario that suggest your boyfriend has zero respect for you – lying about his intentions with this girl, arranging to see her by using a cover up story about his brother, booking a hotel room with her – there's nothing salvageable in terms of his actions. He probably told you because he knew he had been caught out.

   It will be difficult – he'll probably try and make things work with Samantha to try and justify his bad choices, but I guarantee he'll regret it in the long run. When you think about going back, consider how humiliated you felt when you realised what he was doing. There is absolutely no guarantee he won't do something similar again, no matter how much he tells you he won't.

   And think of how lucky you are to be completely free of any joint responsibilities. Better for something like this to happen now, rather than down the line with a house, marriage, children, etc.

4. That is a HUGE red flag. It could be doubly dangerous for you as an immigrant. Admittedly, I don't know much about immigration policies, but if something happens, will you be able to support yourself here in the US? Please think very carefully about this. Best of luck to you.
