I agree, I think that the way OP should go forward is to first talk everything through with her boyfriend, since he is unaware of what sobriety means to OP and how nude it is for her to be around people drinking. He's not supporting her now because she keeps underplaying this aspect of her life. Then they can decide together whether she'll come for an hour and leave before everybody else gets drunk, that he can stay etc.
Once they make up their mind, she should directly reach out to SIL and tell about her sobriety, that she's grateful for the invite and (if she decides to go) that she'll come and stay for an hour.
My problem is with the sentiment that OP is not allowed to feel like this is a slap in the face, while it went from rejecting OP's apology, to berating her, to badmouthing her behind her back, to nothing, to inviting her to a boozefest. That can feel like a slap in the face in my book. I agree it's not something to get hung up about, but OP's justified in feeling upset about it for now and getting over it by the time of the party.
His stupidity ultimately may be he end of this marriage. Why people do this is so beyond the realm of my understanding. It never ends good for most.
The survival rate of these type of relationships is so low. Being married and having a FWB! As they say actions have consequences. Even if they revert back to monogamy it maybe too late.
Why do people have to F##k up a good thing. Or in this case a marriage and a 4 year relationship!!
Also her coworkers are shitty for approving of this. (Unless they’re just faking so that OP doesn’t distance from them and they can keep an eye on her)

Tell his wife and your husband loses his job. Want to pull the trigger on that?
I remember when I first met my now-wife's father and made a joke about how I stick my erect penis inside of her body.
Same I have PCOS and didn't know until the weight gain
I’m sorry for you man. I feel bad for you

Thanks so much, I will send a message of that effect and try to leave him alone ?

Good luck getting your money back. Put your money in your own account and take what he gave his friend.
