You need to text/call your friends and follow through with plans. This sounds like an abusive relationship and you don’t even realize it. You do not need to ask your husband … I 30f, 2 kids, married, with my husband since I’ve been 19.
It goes like this…. “Hey babe, Jessica is hosting a girls night on Saturday, I’ll be there from about 7-midnight. Can you keep the kids, or do you want me to find A sitter?”
You don’t have kids yet so much easier for you. There doesn’t need to be an argument or discussion about it.
Just tell him your plans. IF he starts an argument every time this happens, maybe lean on your parents for advice and help.
My husband has never told me not to go out, ever . And I’m not a huge partier. I literally work, take care of the kids, and our home 100% .. I still make sure to see at least one of my friends once a week. Maybe it’s a quick lunch, maybe a movie.
