Very true. I know a girl from high school who’s parents have a 15 yr age gap. By the time her and her brother were out of the house, her mom was in her 40s and her dad was approaching his 60s. He has tons of health complications from years of being a heavy smoker (he continued smoking literally after having lung cancer) and was an art teacher so the burden of their financials mostly fell on her mom. Her dad also stopped working when she was 12 yrs old and retired young. Her parents aren’t lovers anymore but are still friends so take that how you want, but that’s not a life I think anybody really wants to live.
People are wild. I don’t have an explanation that makes sense. Largely because I have yet to encounter a rational or healthy individual who behaves like this.

It sounds like you might not be monogamous. Nothing wrong with that— polyamory can be rewarding, but it’s important you aren’t stringing along monogamous women. They’re both valid and legitimate orientations. I think you should disclose the kind of relationship status you want with these women clearly. Those who aren’t interested go, and those who are can stay if they’re still into it. And if none of them are interested, you can start dating with polyamory in mind intentionally.
