I don’t know if it’s me wanting the old her to come back because for 4 years it was never like this it was the complete opposite.
She was obsessed with me until last year when her father passed away. Her father left when she was young and I helped her get in touch with him again 2 years ago. He had liver cancer and was dying but I was there for her the whole time. Then when he went into hospice and later passed. She became distant and looked to her friends for help, disregarding me. I was understanding because everyone grieves in different ways, but the distancing only got worse with time and she eventually broke up with me because after 3 months I began confronting her about being distant with me.
So I don’t know if it’s me hoping the old her is in there somewhere or if it’s me being too forgiving

I understand what you're trying to say but sometimes they retaliate back and harder.. NO one knows how capable a man can be. Her dad is a bit of a “bully” but I also come from a conservative culture and my mom used to slap my hands and the back of my legs so many times when I was young. It's just how some cultures are. Violence is never the right thing to do and both are at fault. I've seen families break and this might be one of them.
I doubt that all men who do massages out of love, don't also do them to set the mood. I kind of doubt the others do the inverse though. I'm sure many women at least hope that their man is just this once, doing something nice for them out of love instead of expecting something in return, and I don't think it's foolish to hope for that.
Actually funny you say the gift of fear thing. I had him on social media but didn’t stalk through it or anything. He didn’t post her anyways BUT for the past seven months my gut was going CRAZY.
