Sounds like you guys are both pretty mature and are actually weighing your options before jumping back in. I personally don’t see anything wrong with getting back with an ex as long as they never cheated on you. You guys broke up because of school, if you can find a way to work around school while still maintaining that level of intimacy you both need, then I think it will work. Sounds like she’s down for you and you’re down for her, why not give it a shot? I hope things work out for both of you

He won't change, he only said those things to placate you. You know that, you saw he hadn't stopped talking to others. You can either stay and on-line like this or not, leave, and move on. Your gut is telling you he's a liar and won't stop, you know that. He's never been faithful and has lied to you through your whole relationship. Stay or go, only 2 choices. And you can't change people, they are who they are.
Ask yourself if your parents told you to get rid of the cats, would you? Of course not. You would say I support myself, I on-line on my own, I love my cats, and I'm an adult, right? Why would you let a boyfriend dictate to you? He doesn't understand or doesn't care how much you love your cats, or how you feel when he insists on this. That is no way to be treated in a relationship. You deserve better, and so do your cats.
Oh honey, why are you talking to a man more than twice your age? No man in his 40s should be having anything to do with a teenager. Hell, I'm 27 and I wouldn't touch anyone younger than like 23. There's something wrong with him, and you can and should do way better. This man is predatory.

Real life rarely goes how romantic movies tell us it will. It really doesn't matter if you/your gf was drunk, if that's how you feel, that's how you feel. As long as its also how she feels sober!
One day, you'll be able to laugh at how clumsy your first sharing of the l word was, but right now, just reassure her that it doesn't matter how or where or when it was said, just that it reflects how you actually feel.
Thank you, now that you really put that into words I realize it is super manipulative. For some reason in my mind it comes off as him being so hurt from the breakup that he wouldn’t be able to handle it, but if he really felt that way he would be putting in the work now. I always think how could someone be manipulated into staying in an awful relationship, but now I can see that’s exactly where I am and think I’ve just been blinded by my own situation. I really appreciate your input
