He’s a genuine friend and good guy, and he doesn’t want to be excluded from meeting the new guy (assuming your other friends have met him) just because of your past. He cares about you as a friend and wants to make sure the new guy is right for you.

Nope. He either said he was too busy, or was going to visit family out of town, for three or four weeks afterward. He preemptively told me these things before, on Wednesdays & Thursdays. I didn't ask, but he told me he was otherwise occupied before I even had an opportunity to ask him.
