You do realize when he gets out he will be on probation and subject to drug tests. If he fails which sounds like he will he can put your custody of your child at risk. Not ending the pregnancy is your own choice but would you really want to lose your child over him?
Coming from a mother of both sons and a daughter and someone who has made less than wise decisions with men in the past, your mother isn't trying to run your life or put her nose where it doesn't belong, she is trying to keep you (her baby) from making a mistake that makes her (you) life more difficult. Sure, your husband made a mistake but this mistake wasnt as simple as dropping a glass and breaking it. He made two mistakes that lead to a criminal record, injuries to another person and the absence of your pregnancy. He made the poor decision to do drugs. Then made another poor decision to be violent. As a woman who grew up with violent drug addicts, the impact that will have on your child is monumental and deeply traumatizing.
I respect that you love your husband. I know that is not easy to find. But people here aren't wrong in telling you that love isnt enough. Please take your emotions out of this and see that people are trying to help you. What advice would you give your daughter in this situation?
Until you have both acknowledged a desire to be in an exclusive relationship, dating other people is acceptable and almost to be expected.
