My (37M) wife (38F) and I have been married for almost 14 years, together for 17.

Its exactly this. I have a friend that does the same. She is 20 and i see her like a younger sister, seems to me that her behavior comes mainly from ingenuity and some of that young people optimism. But it's hot to simple turn away because she is a good person and friend.
