I think that a lot of people would agree with you, but to me, there are times when I disagree. For example, if my best friend tells me something she’s deeply ashamed of and traumatized by, I would not tell my partner and I would hope she wouldn’t do that to me.
With jobs, I think that’s understandable but in this situation, they aren’t married and have the same employer so that kind of a secret is just as hot to keep for him as it is for her. I think he is responsible for breaking her trust, but she’s the one responsible for breaking the trust with her employer. Given his role there too, next time if she asks about telling her spouse and they agree, that protects her from putting her job at risk if he does it again.
