When my mom and brother were both going through radiation at the same time I was talking to a friend and told her I didn’t feel I should be as upset as I did because plenty of people have it worse. My own dad had a wife and a son with cancer so what right did I have to be depressed when he was going through worse. She said something I’ll never forget. If no one can be upset because somewhere there’s someone who has it worse, then realize there’s only one person in the world who can actually be upset.
