How is the topic of your best friend being a guy coming up?
I’m someone with a good number of guy friends, and it’s not been an issue with the guys Ive dated (as far as I can tell) — so it does seem odd to me.

Also, you don’t have to lie, but it’s also not something you need to immediately disclose. Having friends of any gender is a pretty normal, adult thing — it might come across as odd if you’re making a point to say “my best friend is a guy.”
