If he's only 20 days home and sober he still has a lot of work to do. If he's acknowledged that and is working on it then maybe he has a chance to be better. That doesn't mean you have any obligation to wait and see if he can pull it off but recently sober is a big change. Could be that he's an arsehole and the alcohol was a symptom… Now you have information from your lawyer start forming a safe exit plan but I do think that if you're safe then it might be worth seeing out your next phase of therapy together. As well as that you probably both need to be in individual therapy because you're going through very different things.
