Like many have said already. For her, it was 6 years ago, but for you, you have spent 6 years on this belief that she is a loyal faithful gf, now that belief has been shattered. For you, the cheating just happened.
Breaking up is a very plausible solution to this situation. Sometimes it is better to start anew. It sucks that she took away your choice for 6 years. You maybe able to forgive and work to forgetting about the whole cheating (some people, I don't lol) if you learned about this 6 years ago. But for 6 years, she kept quiet and robbed you of your time and choice.
