Communication early in a relationship about what is and what isn't cheating is essential. Maybe you two forgot to do that. So now that he knows you consider this to be cheating his response to that new information will be what determines whether you should stay with him to not. In fairness, he can't be held accountable for doing things you never affirmatively expressed as being off the table for you. But now that he's aware of your sensitivity in this area he's been warned.
So let me give you some advice, being with someone 2.5 years and you're still uncertain if you want to stay with her. I feel you should know very well by now if you want to marry her otherwise why are you with her?
With that being said, you still could've asked her opinion. Yes, you are buying it, yes you are putting all financial investment in it, but again, you have invested time being with her. While you don't need to buy what she says is good, common courtesy is to at least get her opinion and make her feel included.
So as for your situation, yes go with homes that you like. But moving forward, if you are still uncertain about your future with her, then stop wasting her time

Yeah bro. You’re orbiting in the friend zone. Just stop. It’s super bad and cringeworthy that you’re acting like she owes you something, and orbiting is just…sad.
On the other hand, she owes you nothing, but she’s also using your lack of self awareness to keep you in orbit. You’re reacting to a chance at a relationship you never really had, but she strung you along for, and used you as her emotional baggage holder.
