She has TRAUMA FROM A PAST RELATIONSHIP. Literally no one is saying she blames him or wishes he didn't do it. 24 hours ago she say him commit an incredibly violent act. It doesn't matter the reason for it, it brought up a lot of completely legitimate past trauma and fear seeing him in that violent state.
Her concern IS NOT that he beat the shit out of burglars. Watching him be violent brought up her past trauma. It's like people who have a phobia of mice. They know logically that the mice can't hurt them, but they have an irrational fear that is out of their control.
Your response is completely lacking tact and compassion. If I was this girl's friend and knew her past and saw this message from her boyfriend, I would immediately tell her to cut him off and never speak to him again, because he is clearly incapable of empathy.
